ADMINISTRATION POLICE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN EMERGENCY HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE INTERVENTIONS
Kenya is experiencing the fourth year of drought. Rainfalls during this long rains season were exceptionally poor, averaging 30 % of the normal.
The country is therefore in a serious crisis with harsh food insecurity and severe water shortage.
In the a foregoing conditions the Cabinet asked AP Department together with other disciplined services (the military & NYS) to respond to the water and food crisis by providing transport and logistical services. The AP department responded by providing cargo carrier trucks, water bowsers and personnel to carry out the task of special and rapid delivery of enhanced food and water to the area with high risk of humanitarian emergency.
