THE ADMINISTRATION POLICE BAND

Administration Police Band started as Corps of Drums in 1958 at Ruringu Trainig centre - Nyeri.
The main activity of the band at the time was to lead march pasts during graduation
ceremonies. In 1972 when the Administration Police Training was moved to its present site
APTC - Embakasi, the Band became fully established and based at the college.

The main objectives of the AP band are;

• Promote good relation with the public as ambassadors of Administration Police
• Assist charitable organizations accomplish their functional objectives
• Enhancing Administration Police Community Based Policing Strategies.
• Co-relate and assist the college achieve its objectives
• Headquarter and APTC Security, emergency response

Administration Police Band has trained and assisted in establishment of several marching
bands among them being;

• National Youth Service Band • General Service Unit Band • Sudan People Liberation Army Band

The Administration Police Band has managed to scoop several awards in different national events;

• Kenya Music Festival Awards
o Years 1978, 1981, 1992, 1994

• The Agricultural Society of Kenya Central Rift Branch Nakuru,
o Year 2005

• The Agricultural Society of Kenya Mombasa National Show,
o Years 1994, 1996

• The Agricultural Society of Kenya Nairobi International Show,
o Years 2004

• The Agricultural Society of Kenya Nakuru Show,
o Year 2006

• The Agricultural Society of Kenya Mombasa International Show,
o Year 2005
